About EMCOM

EMCOM Systems (a division of Eastwood Microcomputer Services Limited) was founded by the late Peter Eastwood, Chartered Accountant.  With his industrial experience he saw the opportunity to develop professional software for the emerging microcomputer industry with our first system (a Sord M203 Mark III which ran a Debtors, Creditors and Stock System) installed in 1980.   With this in mind our main objective was to provide a fuss free, easy to use and cost effective system not only for our clients but also for ourselves and continue to push ourselves to find “A Better Solution”.

Since then we have been developing computer solutions to over 500 sites.

Our client base ranges from single user home based operations through to large multiple site businesses.

About Practice Magic

Due to our firm's reputation and experience, Emcom Systems were one of the original software developers selected by the Inland Revenue Department when they considered the concept of electronic filing in 1990.  In 1991 the E-File pilot was launched. The pilot series proved successful and E-File went live in 1992. Our first E-Ffile system was called Tax/EM, which was a Clarion Dos based system and was upgraded to the windows platform in 2001. Since then we have continued to develop Practice Magic into a product that we are proud to stand by with a high standard of service. As IRD are continually improving their e-file system, allow us to build a essential package to help accountants.
